Prix de thèse

The 2026 Air and Space Force Awards will recognize work carried out and supported in 2025.

Applications must be submitted by June 9, 2026.

Every year, the French Air and Space Force rewards the best theses and dissertations on “Air and/or Space” topics with the Clément Ader and René Mouchotte awards. These awards were created by order of the Minister of Defense on March 15, 2004, in order to "encourage, stimulate, and promote studies or research related to the concerns of the Air and Space Force. This work, relating in particular to issues of strategy, history, use of forces, human resources, equipment, or aviation law, may be conducted in particular in academic circles, research institutes, or within the Ministry of Defense."

This prize is divided into two awards: the “Clément Ader” prize, awarded to a doctoral thesis or equivalent work (€5,000), and the “René Mouchotte” prize, which recognizes one or two master's theses or equivalents (€2,000 per award). The interest of the thesis or dissertation, its originality, and its relevance to the concerns of the Air and Space Force are the criteria determining the awarding of the prize. The jury is chaired by the Chief of Staff of the Air and Space Force, who personally presents the awards to the winning students.
