Doctoral training programme "cercle de mentorat" 2025/2026 - information for doctoral students
The Femmes et Sciences association has been running a mentoring programme in several French universities for a number of years.
Based on this model, around fifteen female researchers from the University, representing different disciplines, have created a doctoral course which is offered by the doctoral college in its catalogue and is entitled ‘Mentoring Circle’ (25 hours / 12 credits).
A mentor is assigned to a doctoral student (from a different laboratory and with no research connection) during the first session for a period of one year. The aim is to meet with them approximately once a month (to discuss career plans, share experiences, network, ask questions, etc.) in order to build a relationship of trust and discuss any issues that may be of concern to them.
In addition to this mentoring, doctoral students participate in five half-day workshops/round tables on various topics throughout the year (see attached programme cf. programme joint), which will also help to guide them in their professional careers and give them confidence for their future careers while building a network.
The training programme has been running for two years now and has received positive feedback from doctoral students.
The new session will be launched on 11 December 2025 at 6 p.m. at the Chevreul Institute.
